About the score & timing
MIDI is the timing source, including tempo changes, chords and overlapping notes. This prototype draws a simplified grand staff from MIDI: no original beaming, voices, key signatures, pedal markings or page layout. Spelling uses flats and Romanian note labels. Bars assume 4/4; the bundled Atlantic includes its three-eighth-note pickup. MIDI meter changes are not displayed. It is a practice view, not an engraving replacement.
A PDF has page graphics, not reliable note timing. View it alongside playback, but its printed notes cannot be automatically highlighted. MusicXML plus MIDI is the best next step for faithful notation. WAV import is not supported: playback here is a synthesized piano-like instrument driven by MIDI.
Playback and highlights share the Web Audio clock. Notes turn teal at their MIDI onset and remain highlighted for their MIDI duration. Playback pitch changes only sound; the written notes stay original. Audio is scheduled 100 ms ahead. Changing speed, pitch or position cancels scheduled sounds and resumes held notes. Visual timing depends on screen refresh and device audio latency.
